2010 Harley-Davidson Road King
The
2010 Harley Davidson Road King blends
Harley's classic heritage design with long distance riding comfort. Two key aspects of this
bike are a detachable windshield and hard-shell saddlebag which make this
Harley suitable for long distance journey's or for simple commuting.
The Harley
Road King
features the new Helical cut 5th gear for improved transmission sounds.
It also has a black powder-coated powertrain with beautiful chrome
covers. A chrome 2-1-2 dual exhaust with tapered mufflers creates a
powerful rumble. Black, 28- spoke cast aluminum wheels fit nicely on the
Road King and they are adorned with classic white wall tires. A
chrome, low profile fuel tank console is equipped with an electronic
speedometer. The rear fender offers a clean look and a low-mounted
license plate with LED illumination ensures zero aggravation with the
plate positioning. The
Road King's seat is a one piece- two up design. A large, clear Lexan quick-release detachable windshield is a nice addition to this
bike.
The injection molded saddlebags ensure durability and effectively
protect belongings. The large Hiawatha headlight provides a solid shine
in the dark. The
motorcycle also comes with auxiliary passing lights.
The
Harley-Davidson Road King's
touring chassis is based on what is known as a single spar, rigid
backbone frame. The stout swingarm on this bike was developed to
withstand the demands of long-haul touring as well as newer technology's
more powerful engines. The engine is a rubber-mounted
Twin Cam 96 V-Twin
with Electronic Port Sequential Fuel Injection. It also contains heated
oxygen sensors and Electronic Throttle Control. The tires on the
bike are multi tread Dunlop?s with a rear tire construction that extends tire life by around 25 percent.
The chassis on the
Road King has a mild steel tubular frame with a two-piece stamped and welded backbone. The
bike
also contains cast and forged junctions, twin downtubes and a bolt-on
rear frame with forged fender supports. The chassis is MIG welded. The
swingarm is mild steel as well. The
motorcycle has a two-piece drawn and welded section, forged junctions and is MIG welded. The front forks of the
bike are 41.30 mm.
The brake calipers on the
Harley-Davidson Road King are
4 piston-fixed on the front and rear. The rotors are patented and
fixed. An Anti-Lock Brake system is available as an option on the
Road King. Performance wise, the
Road King produces 92.60 lbs. feet of torque at 3500 rpm. Fuel economy of this
Harley is 35 city and 54 highway.
The battery on the
2010 Harley Road King
is a sealed, maintenance free, 12 volt. It contains a solenoid shift
starter motor engagement. The headlight has a 55-watt low beam and a
60-watt high beam. Indicator lamps will warn the rider of low fuel, low
oil pressure etc. The dimensions of this
bike are 95.0 in length, 37.40 in width, and 55.10 in height. Fuel capacity for this
motorcycle is
6 gallons. Oil capacity is 4 quarts and transmission capacity is a
single quart. The color options for this particular model are Vivid
Black, Flame Blue Pearl, and Red Hot Sunglo. There are also two two-tone
colors. They are Scarlet Red/Vivid Black and Flame Blue Pearl/Brilliant
Silver Pearl.
