The 2010 Harley Davidson Forty-Eight motorcycle screams factory custom with a touch of Darkness while still maintaining the purity of the Sportster heritage. The bike rides low with a slammed suspension. Its stance indicates its aggressive behavior. The Forty-Eight takes the Sportster's otherwise innocent appeal and morphs it into an intimidating and ferocious force to be reckoned with.


The 2010 Harley Davidson Forty-Eight features a blacked out rubber-mounted Evolution 1200 cc V-Twin engine with polished covers. The stock peanut tank with lightening hole mounting bracket reminds the rider that Harley still has faith in the way they use to do things in regards to bike building and that heritage is important to them. The seat that comes on the bike is the classic one-piece, solo Sportster seat. The seat height on the bike is 26 inches. The handlebar is low profile as well as custom. Mirrors on the bike are under-mounted inspiring a sleek and menacing gaze. Front forks have wide triple clamps.

The Harley Forty-Eight's front fender is chopped and mounted on the fork brace. Components on the bike such as the air cleaner cover, clutch and brake levers, and turn signal are blacked out. The rear fender is chopped as well. The license plate is side-mounted for style. The Harley-Davidson  Smart Security System is optional.

The engine available on the H-D Forty-Eight is Harley's air-cooled, Evolution. The displacement on the engine is 73.4 cubic inches. The bore is 3.5 inches. Engine torque is 79 ft. lbs. at 4000 rpm. The fuel system is Harley's Electronic Sequential Port Fuel Injection. Compression ratio is 9.7:1. Fuel economy is 42 city and 57 highway. The wheels on the Harley-Davidson Forty-Eight are laced steel and black. The speedometer and odometer are mounted on the handlebar. Indicator lamps display engine diagnostics, low oil pressure, low fuel warning, low battery etc.

The 2010 Forty-Eight's brakes have dual-piston calipers in the front and single-piston calipers in the rear. The exhaust system is chrome with shorty dual exhaust and slash-cut mufflers. Color options for the Forty Eight include Brilliant Silver Pearl and Mirage Orange Pearl. The length of the Forty-Eight is 88.6 inches. Ground clearance is 3.9 inches. The rake steering head is 29 degrees. Wheelbase is 59.8 inches. Fuel capacity is 2.1 gallons. Oil capacity is 2.8 quarts.
