The 2010 Harley-Davidson Fat Boy offers a bold, grizzly look. The stance of the Fat Boy evokes a feeling of rebellion. Features such as the rider foot beds encourage consistent cruising.
The Fat Boy's fuel tank has a sender that offers accurate fuel-level readings. It has a power train that is powder-coated black with chrome covers. The exhaust is chrome over/under shotgun exhaust. The bike comes equipped with a chrome front fork nacelle as well as a seven-inch ball headlamp that channel's classic Harleys of the past. The oil tank is chrome as well as the tank console. The tank console houses an electronic speedometer. The seat valence is bullet-studded and has a tank strap. The handlebar is internally wired and is accompanied by Bare Knuckle risers. It is MIG welded. The swingarm on this motorcycle is mild steel with round tube sections and forged junctions. It is MIG welded. The front forks are 41.30 mm and telescopic. They feature "beer can" covers. The rear shocks are hidden, horizontal-mounted, and are coil overs.

The wheels on the Fat Boy are silver, bullet hole disc cast aluminum. The brakes have 4-piston calipers in the front and 2-piston in the rear. The rotors have uniform expansion and are patented. The Fat Boy's engine torque receives a rating of 93.67 ft. lbs. at 3000 rpm. The fuel economy on this motorcycle is 35 city and 54 highway. The battery is a 12-volt that is sealed and maintenance free. The bike uses a starter with a solenoid shift motor engagement. The headlamp is halogen and shines a 55-watt low beam as well as a 60-watt high beam. Indicator lamps inform the rider of low oil pressure, engine diagnostics, low fuel warnings etc. The dimensions of the motorcycle are 39.20 for overall width and 44.50 for overall height. Ground clearance is 5.10 inches. Rake is 31 degrees and fork angle is 31 degrees. The Fat Boy uses Harley-Davidson Series Dunlops with radial black walls on the front and rear. The fuel capacity is 5 gallons, the oil capacity is 3.50 quarts, and the transmission capacity is 1 quart. Color options for the Fat Boy include Vivid Black, Scarlet Red, Brilliant Silver Pearl, Flame Blue Pearl and Black Ice Pearl.
