2010 Harley Davidson Dyna Wide Glide
The
2010 Dyna Wide Glide is a great way to enter the
Harley Davidson family. It offers superior style and has an attitude all on its own. It is fully customizable but still remains sleek even if purchased in stock form. Any
Harley fan should feel privileged to own the
Dyna Wide Glide.
The combination of features on the
Wide Glide allows this bike to make a statement while still remaining comfortable.
The
Wide Glide comes standard with what is known as a Tommy Gun exhaust. Within the exhaust are slotted heat shields over the headers. Another key feature on this bike is the chopped rear fender. This offers a refined look but maintains a sexy appeal. The
Harley-Davidson Wide Glide gives that old school chopper style with the fit and finish of updated technology.
The
Wide Glide's fork layout is pronounced enough to give the look of a chopper without sacrificing handling. The name
Wide Glide comes from the 34 degrees of rake on the
bike. The styling on the bike offers a combination of black and chrome. The battery box on the
motorcycle is equipped with a chrome
Dyna Wide Glide logo for extra appeal. A mini sissy bar gives this
bike a nice touch without being too obnoxious. The front of the fuel tank is bumped up 0.75 to give a higher angle resulting in more of a chopper look.
The
Harley-Davidson Wide Glide uses the air-cooled Twin Cam 96. It has 96 cubic inches of displacement. It gets 35 mpg city and 54 mpg highway. The speedometer on the
Wide Glide is mounted on the center tank. The
Wide Glide offers certain light warnings which should prove to be very helpful. Indicator lights come on for both low oil pressure and low fuel warnings.
The back end of the
Harley Wide Glide is interesting. One reason is that there is no traditional stoplight. Instead, the
bike uses red-lens turn signal lamps as stoplights. As a result of a non traditional stoplight, the
motorcycle is provided with a very clear rear-end.
The
H-D Wide Glide offers a light clutch and throttle. Gear selecting gives positive feedback. Riders can get up to 45 mph in first gear and reach 70 mph in second gear. Throttle response is substantial though not overwhelming. With a smooth powerband, the rider need not worry about not being able to control the
bike.
The ground clearance on the
Harley Wide Glide is 4.2 inches. Some reviewers claim that taking a turn too hard can cause some scuffing on the pegs or exhaust. Therefore, trying to carve around hard turns is probably not ideal. The wheelbase of the
Harley is 68.3 inches. The tires are of a substantial size without being too big. The oil capacity of the
bike is 3 quarts. Brakes on the
motorcycle are 4-piston front and 2-piston torque-free floating rear. The
bike comes in two colors. They are Vivid Black and Red Hot Sunglo. Essentially, the
Wide Glide offers signature
Harley Davidson style and will be recognized for its authenticity anywhere a rider chooses to go.
